Marsh Vegetation

The VCR/LTER monitors primary production each year as end-of-the-year biomass at mainland, lagoonal, and back-barrier marsh sites, including sites that are part of long-term experiments of increased inundation and disturbance from wrack deposition.  Marsh surface elevation change are monitored using Surface Elevation Tables (SET) at several locations in the VCR/LTER.  SETs have been monitored since 1997 in Phillips Creek mainland marsh, and more recently, SETs have been establised in several lagoonal marshes.
