 A chronosequence of sites across northern Hog Island spans from pre-1871 to the present. During most of this time, northern Hog has grown in width, from a few hundred meters to over 1.5 km. We monitor aboveground biomass, production, and species composition of grasses and shrubs, and soil characteristics in several sites across the chronosequence. |
