Automated Radio Tracking System Articles / News of interest Date: Aug 29, 2005 - 04:10 PM This link describes an automated telemetry system currently running on Barro Colorado Island (BCI), Republic of Panama. By August 2005 we have deployed 186 transmitters on 144 animals from 16 species from antbird to ocelot, building a database of millions of records on animal activity, location, and interaction. Bearings are recorded every 1.5 seconds from 7 automated receivers mounted on 40m towers above the canopy.
