This dataset contains data from Surface Elevation Tables (SETs), Root SETs (RSET), and Marker Horizons (MH) located at the Virginia Coast Reserve.
This dataset was collected using standardized techniques for Surface Elevation Tables from USGS at: http://www.pwrc.usgs.gov/set/

SET change in marsh surface elevation (cm)
Bench mark driven to depth of refusal, which is assumed to be the Pleistocene surface; that depth varied from approximately 6 ft - 16 ft.
RSETs:
Root Zone SET change in marsh surface elevation (cm)
All bench marks set to a depth of 20 cm or the bottom of root zone
MHs:
Depth of sediment and roots above feldspar MH (mm)
Data was reformatted and consolidated into a single table by John Porter
