Create a Statistical Program from an Ecological Metadata Language (EML) document

Notes:

• The EML document must include at least one dataTable entity, including attributeList and physical entity, so that there is adequate information for a statistical program to act on.
  
• Currently the data must be on the LTER PASTA server or in a text file stored on your computer. If someone wants to work on direct SQL connections etc., please feel free to do so (see below).
• The latest version of the stylesheet used to create the statistical program is available at: https://svn.lternet.edu/websvn/listing.php?repname=VCR&path=/trunk/eml_statistical_tools/#_trunk_eml_statistical_tools
• A REST-based web service is available at: http://www1.vcrlter.virginia.edu/webservice/statprog. Valid types for use with the service are: r sas spss sps Syntax for this web service:

  http://www1.vcrlter.virginia.edu/webservice/PASTAprog/knb-lter-vcr.25.30.r

  where knb-lter-vcr.49 is replaced by the package ID if the dataset you are interested in and the suffix (e.g., .r) indicates the desired type of program.

  If metadata is not yet available in the LTER PASTA server, the URL:

  http://www.vcrlter.virginia.edu/webservice/statprog/myprogram.r?emlurl=http://myserver.edu/myEMLDoc.xml

  can be used, where emlurl is set to the location of an EML document on the web.
• If the metadata contains a live network link to the data itself, an alternative service will create a program that should run without additional editing. It is available at:
