Logistics

Now for Phase II. Each of you need to contact Denise at Enterprise Travel (540-667-2900 or 800-937-6795) to make air reservations (mention the Biodiversity Workshop, Blandy Farm or me). She will bill UVA directly, and send the tickets to you. We have (as always is the case) limited funds and I ask that you work with her to get the best deal available. Ideally, each of you would stay overnight on the 12th (a Saturday) with return flights on sunday, the 13th. To entice you to stay over on the 12th, I will arrange a hike on the Appalachian Trail from my house (about 300-m from the trail) to Harpers Ferry, WV. Its about 13 miles or so, with more downhills than up-hills. Its a nice hike, especially if you're going to be sitting in an airplane/car for any length of time the next day. If needs be, I will arrange a less strenuous activity for those who not willing/able to hike. Those of you who can't stay over till Sunday become very expensive (especially given the short lead time), and we will probably have to put you on a wait-and-see list that we will work as far down as funds permit. For those of you more local, and who are driving, we pay $.27/mile.

I also need to know about special dietary requirements, or other sorts of personal, house-keeping items that we need to know about to make your stay here more enjoyable. You can email these to Jen Peachey <jlp4y@virginia.edu>. Any other questions or concerns should go to me. Guess that's all for now. Cheers.
